LOT 100A1 $40 cdn

Welcome to GreatCanadianStamps.com your on-line source for quality Canadian stamps. Up for sale today is a large lot of mixed new, unhinged stamps and commemorative issues with a good sized lot of postage due stamps a perennial favourite. We also have links to stamp auctions happening right now!

The postage due stamp was a clever technique of collecting money from the addressee when the sender neglected to place enough postage on the letter. You only received your letter when you coughed up the cash represented by the post due stamps.

Lot #1001A  $40 Cdn. Shipping is offered via letter mail (non insured, no tracking number) for $2.50  or via expedited parcel post which includes a tracking number and $100 insurance for $15 Our experience is that letter mail is a very dependable service however it is not insured against loss and we ship at your risk. Expedited parcel post although more expensive- is a traceable insured service with a tracking number.

Here is an interesting collection of  new, unhinged mint Canadian stamps and commemorative booklets that will be a nice addition to any collection.  First, there is the very beautiful Fortress of Louisbourg 10 full bleed stamp folder from 1995 in new condition unhinged. (10X 43cents face value) The stamps show a panorama of Fort Louisbourg and individual stamps in the folder are each a separate part of that scene which is a very clever and unusual approach. The scene is five stamps wide and one high so is repeated twice in the booklet. Design by Rolf Harder.

The 8 new unhinged Christmas stamps from 1994 are unusual in that they have no denomination printed on them however they do have four vertical black bars representing a bar code and 38 cents face value each.

The Ships of Canada Collection is new and sealed in it's original packaging. Anyone who loves ships will love this collection. Being a sailor and retired naval officer I really wanted to break the seal and look these over but I resisted the temptation as I know the collector would prefer to have them as issued. The cover of the booklet includes line drawings of sailing ships on the back the Tern Schooner Flower Dew 393 tons built in 1918. What a wonderful sheer line she has and there is nothing more salty looking than an East Coast schooner.

John Paul II Visit to Canada September 9-20th 1984 includes commemorative card and two stamps 32 cents and 64 cents as issued in excellent condition in original wrapper. The image of this younger John Paul is particularly powerful as he appears to be looking right at you and you can feel the spirit of the man -one of the greatest Popes beloved by millions. Perhaps one of the most popular men ever.  The scan does not fully capture the quality of the image.

A large lot of new unhinged postage due stamps with several matched sets. Again the scans do not show the actual detail and crispness of the stamps but you know what they look like!  A total of 116 Postage due stamps which will give good depth to your collection and possibly give you some trading stamps too. Postage due stamps are always in demand and popular with collectors.

About Shipping

It costs approximately $2.50 to send a small number of stamps to a North American address via normal letter mail. This service is very dependable and economical but it is not traceable or insured so there is a small amount of risk. Our experience has been that less than one percent of our shipments have simply disappeared over the years.

You can also have your purchases mailed to you via expedited parcel post. This is a good service in that it provides a tracking number, confirmation of delivery and insurance to $100. Unfortunately the additional service is reflected in additional costs and our average expedited parcel to a North American address costs $15. The choice of shipping is yours. It really depends on your willingness to take a small risk and the value of the shipment vs the additional cost.

Please contact us for details on International shipping. Normally the prices are slightly higher however often tracking and insurance is not possible. In some countries we noticed the shipping is about the same as for North America.

Payment

We think that Paypal is the best all round payment method. It provides us with an instant payment and provides you with a record of the payment and you can also use your credit cards or bank checks. That way we can ship without waiting for a payment to clear. Paypal charges us a small commission for the service but it is free for you to use.   We understand that some people prefer to use checks or money orders too -not a problem. We also have an alert pay account.  If you use a money order and are outside of Canada be sure it is an international money order not one just for your country. We have had some customers send cash and so far no problems but you are running a bit of risk doing that.  Any questions just ask.

Contact

We are located in North Bay Ontario, Canada. We do not have a public walk in store front operation and all sales are via the internet with delivery by post.  If you have any questions please comment us by E-mail.  Although we normally take the weekends off we answer all emails within a day. We have worked with E-commerce since 1996 and enjoy providing services to our customers located across North America and the World. Thanks for visiting!
